What trip to L.A. would be complete without a visit to the ever-popular Disneyland? Even the most cynical cannot help but be endeared by the "Magic Kingdom". Part of Disneyland's charm is that it offers something for all ages. Younger children will love meeting their favourite characters such as Mickey Mouse and Goofy as well as the famous "It's a small world" boat ride. Older kids and the young at heart can enjoy the thrilling rides such as the Big Thunder Mountain roller coaster which twists and turns through bat caves and caverns and falling rocks. For water-ride lovers try Splash Mountain or why not test your wits in the Haunted Mansion? You should expect to spend the best part of a day exploring Disneyland, and no matter what the weather remember to wear comfortable shoes for exploration of its four "lands". A fun way to get around the park, too, is to take the Disneyland railroad, a traditional locomotive which stops at various points. There are various restaurants throughout the park catering to all tastes and shops sell a large selection of Disney merchandise. A recommended way to get to Disneyland is via coaches which stop at most hotels in the morning and provide return transport in the evening. Many operators offer an inclusive price for transport and admission to the park. Ask in your accommodation for details. |
