Mildred E Mathias Botanical Garden. Includes botanical specimens from all over the world with approximately 5000 species. Located at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), you can also get a glimpse at college life California-style.
Griffith Observatory. Reopening in 2005 this gives stunning views of all of Los Angeles. Located on E. Observatory Road.
Petersen Automotive Museum. Features car exhibitions as well as the history of the automobile. Movie buffs will love the inclusion of the Batmobile and Austin Powers' "Shaguar" Located at 6060 Wilshire Blvd. Adult tickets cost $10, children's $5.Opening hours are 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday to Sunday.
Museum of Tolerance. A museum which heavily features the history of the Holocaust with the hope of decreasing racism in America today. Located at 9786 West Pico Blvd.
California Science Center. Located on State Drive, this is an interactive museum for all the family. Learning is made fun with such exhibits as a chick hatchery and a giant replica of the human body. Also features an IMAX cinema. Admission is free and the museum is open every day between 10 am and 5 pm.
